The Platform Upgrade

Topgolf is rolling out its most significant events refresh in years, combining a redesigned tech-enabled competition experience with four new chef-driven buffet concepts and a suite of operational upgrades timed to capture peak corporate and holiday event bookings across its 100-plus global venues.

The centerpiece of the technology update is a fully rebuilt TopContender experience. The platform now supports both team and individual scoring, with guests scanning a QR code at the end of a session to pull instant results aggregated across multiple bays — a meaningful improvement for large corporate groups that previously had to reconcile scores manually. The updated system also enables cross-location competition, allowing groups to compete against other Topgolf venues in real time, regardless of geography. It's the kind of connected-play infrastructure that differentiates Topgolf's venue tech from standard entertainment-dining competitors and deepens the case for the platform as a corporate event and group hospitality destination.

Catering Operations Redesigned

On the F&B and operations side, Topgolf is retiring its legacy event menu in favor of four distinct buffet concepts — Modern Mediterranean, Cantina Kitchen, Taste of Topgolf, and the premium Chef's Table — each built around customizable, build-your-own formats rather than fixed selections. An expanded à la carte add-on list covers proteins, sliders, sides, and whole pizzas, with gluten-friendly, vegan, and vegetarian options flagged throughout, addressing the dietary-accommodation friction that event planners routinely flag as a pain point in group catering.

The operational model backing these menus has also been restructured. Topgolf is introducing a dedicated Service Support Lead role at each buffet station — shifting event floor staff toward guest-experience functions — and increasing buffet refresh frequency to one setup per 30 guests, up from one per 50. New event tables eliminate the linen-and-transport logistics that burdened previous setups, while modernized buffet displays standardize presentation across properties. For operators managing high-volume event nights, those throughput and labor-model changes carry real impact on cover count efficiency and staff deployment.

Holiday Hooks and Booking Incentives

For the 2026 holiday window — October 28 through January 31, 2027 — Topgolf is layering in two limited-time menus (Holiday Taste of Topgolf and Festive Fare) alongside three promotional structures: a $15 game-play bonus card for holiday event attendees, a half-off game-play offer for Monday bookings in December, and an early-bird perk program for planners securing 25-plus-guest parties before October 31. The bonus card, redeemable through March 2027, functions as a retention mechanism driving repeat visits well past the holiday cycle — a loyalty-adjacent tactic increasingly common across entertainment venue operators managing seasonal demand curves.

"This evolution gives planners more flexibility and a smoother experience from booking to the last bite," said David McKillips, CEO at Topgolf. The company is positioning the full package — tech-enabled gameplay, elevated F&B, and streamlined service operations — as a differentiated offer for corporate event budgets that compete with hotel ballrooms and traditional private dining venues.

With entertainment-dining venues accelerating investment in group event infrastructure, Topgolf's simultaneous push across gameplay technology, catering operations, and booking incentives signals a strategic bet that the events segment — not just walk-in play — will drive the next phase of venue revenue growth.
