Direct Integration Simplifies Delivery Access National Retail Solutions (NRS) announced a direct point-of-sale integration with Uber Eats, enabling independent retail merchants across the U.S. and Canada to list inventory and fulfill delivery orders through their existing NRS platform. The integration draws real-time inventory data directly from NRS's system and routes incoming delivery orders into the company's order management tool alongside in-store transactions. This unified workflow eliminates manual data entry, third-party aggregators, and additional hardware requirements. "Independent retailers have long been underserved by the digital commerce revolution," said Elie Y. Katz, President and CEO of NRS. "To address this deficit, we've partnered with Uber Eats to build a direct point-of-sale connection specifically for our independent retailers. Together, we are providing independent store owners with access to the same powerful digital tools used by large retail chains - without added complexity or cost. We are committed to ensuring that independent retailers not only survive - but thrive - in a digital-first world."

Avoiding Middleware Friction Unlike solutions requiring third-party intermediaries, the direct connection reduces errors and maintains real-time inventory accuracy across online and physical channels. The integration is available to all eligible NRS merchants regardless of retail vertical—from bodegas and convenience stores to liquor shops and specialty grocers. NRS operates the POS network for approximately 35,000 independent retail locations and provides payment processing, EBT/eWIC acceptance, e-commerce solutions, and other merchant services. "Independent retailers are an essential part of the neighborhoods they serve, and today's consumers expect convenient, on-demand access to the local stores they know and trust," said Hashim Amin, Head of Grocery & Retail for Uber in North America. "Through our partnership with NRS—the leading POS network serving small-format independent retailers—we're making it easier for tens of thousands of merchants to offer delivery and reach customers in new ways. We're proud to work with NRS to help more local retailers grow their delivery business and serve their communities with greater flexibility."

Why It Matters

For independent retailers, a direct POS-to-marketplace connection eliminates operational friction and reduces the technical barriers to participating in third-party delivery. For operators already using NRS systems, the integration offers immediate access to Uber Eats' customer base without platform switching or manual order reentry.
