New Platform Targets Mid-Market Restaurant Digital Needs

Moxie Labs, a digital product agency, has launched FNGRFOOD, a proprietary cloud-based customer experience platform aimed at restaurant and hospitality brands seeking flexibility without the cost of fully custom development.

The platform integrates ordering, loyalty programs, and guest experience into a single ecosystem while connecting with existing systems including Olo, Punchh, and Flybuy.

Key Features

At its core, FNGRFOOD offers:

- Customizable UX frameworks rooted in data-driven design to increase average check size and reduce order friction
- Orchestration architecture that synchronizes data across disparate systems
- Unified analytics providing consolidated visibility into the guest journey from first click to final pickup
- Smart commerce tools for advanced menu management and margin-optimized merchandising

"We didn't want to reinvent the wheel; we wanted to perfect it," said Justin Mathews, Founder + CEO of Moxie Labs. "FNGRFOOD uses sophisticated design frameworks based on years of UX research. This gives brands a massive headstart with a UI that actually works, while providing the flexibility to customize the experience so it feels 100% authentic."

Industry Validation

Olo, the platform for digital ordering and guest experience for restaurants, endorsed the approach. "Olo's open platform is built to give restaurant brands flexibility in how they create their digital guest experience," said Ali Tappe, Senior Partnerships Manager at Olo. "We're glad to see innovative partners like Moxie Labs building on top of our infrastructure, and we look forward to seeing where brands like Hattie B's take it."

Flybuy, which provides location intelligence for off-premise operations, praised the technical execution. "Speed and precision are everything in the off-premise world," said Ken McInerney, SVP of Partnerships at Flybuy. "The FNGRFOOD orchestration layer integrates with our location intelligence seamlessly, ensuring that the 'handoff' is perfect every time. Working with the Moxie team is a breath of fresh air—they build robust, scalable solutions that prioritize the guest above all else."

Hattie B's Case Study

The launch follows a successful deployment with Hattie B's Hot Chicken, the Nashville-based fried chicken chain with locations across Tennessee and six other states. Hattie B's transitioned its national digital presence to FNGRFOOD and customized the framework to enable a bespoke "Coop Club" rewards experience while maintaining performance standards. Flybuy's location intelligence powers Hattie B's pickup operations by sending staff early alerts when customers approach locations.

Why It Matters

For multi-unit restaurant operators, the competitive pressure to offer seamless digital experiences continues to mount. FNGRFOOD addresses a genuine market gap: platforms that offer design best practices and integration flexibility without requiring six-figure custom development budgets. As more third-party systems become essential to restaurant operations—from ordering to loyalty to fulfillment logistics—orchestration layers that unify these tools have become operational necessity rather than luxury. Early validation from major ecosystem players suggests the approach resonates with technology partners already embedded in restaurant workflows.
