Digital Transformation Accelerates for Bangkok-Based Chain Minor Hotels has successfully deployed Oracle OPERA Cloud across 106 properties in 59 countries, marking a major shift from legacy on-premises systems to cloud-native infrastructure. The rollout includes Oracle OPERA Cloud Central for centralized reservations and distribution. The migration addresses the chain's rapid expansion across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and Australasia. By moving to a cloud platform, Minor Hotels eliminates the cost and complexity of managing property-level servers, which previously delayed deployments and limited business continuity. The transition also enables a unified guest data foundation across brands including Anantara, Avani, NH Collection, NH Hotels, Tivoli, and Oaks. "At Minor Hotels, digital transformation is about far more than modernizing systems. It is about building a connected commercial ecosystem that unifies our brands, our data and every guest interaction across the journey," said Ian Di Tullio, chief commercial officer at Minor Hotels. "Oracle OPERA Cloud provides an important foundation for that vision, enabling us to accelerate innovation, strengthen personalization, and create more seamless experiences for both our guests and our teams."

Integration and Flexibility Drive Next Phase Minor Hotels is leveraging Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform (OHIP) to connect third-party services and develop proprietary solutions like paperless check-in. The modular architecture allows the chain to scale innovation across markets while maintaining consistent core technology. "In today's hospitality landscape, integration is critical," said Thiru Tholtan, vice president of solutions for Hotel Technology at Minor Hotels. "OHIP gives us the flexibility to innovate quickly, from developing our own paperless check-in solutions to integrating best-in-class third-party services. It creates a truly connected platform that evolves with our needs. Oracle has demonstrated a clear commitment to supporting global hospitality operators. Their delivery against the product roadmap, particularly in mobile-first capabilities, continues to add value to our operations." The company operates over 640 hotels, resorts, and branded residences across 59 countries. The next phase of deployments will extend OPERA Cloud to properties in Australia and New Zealand.

Why It Matters

For hospitality operators, Minor Hotels' cloud migration demonstrates how centralized property management systems reduce operational complexity and enable faster expansion. The integration-first approach—enabled by open APIs and modular architecture—signals that vendors now expect chains to plug in best-of-breed services rather than rely solely on monolithic suites. Operators managing rapid geographic growth face similar pressure to modernize infrastructure; Minor's playbook offers a template for phased, brand-agnostic rollouts.
