Back-office software consultancy ContinuServe has acquired The Restaurant Intelligence Solution (TRIS), a St. Petersburg, Florida-based firm specializing in Restaurant365 implementation and restaurant operations transformation — a move that broadens ContinuServe's footprint from financial outsourcing into the full operational stack that multi-unit operators increasingly demand.

The deal adds TRIS's deep Restaurant365 bench to ContinuServe's existing outsourced accounting, finance, enterprise application, and managed IT services. TRIS President Jason Gray will remain with the business, and the TRIS team will integrate into ContinuServe's Multi-Unit Consumer Market practice, headed by Kars Stal, EVP and Head of the Multi-Unit Consumer Market.

Why This Deal Matters

Restaurant365 has matured into a critical platform for multi-unit restaurant groups, consolidating accounting, operations, inventory, labor management, and reporting inside a single cloud-native SaaS environment. Operators that have standardized on Restaurant365 are increasingly looking for implementation partners who can go beyond chart-of-accounts configuration and drive operational ROI — precisely the capability gap TRIS was built to fill. Under Gray's leadership, the firm has developed a reputation for helping restaurant organizations improve back-of-house visibility, streamline purchasing workflows, and extract operational intelligence from their platform investments.

"Restaurants today need more than strong financial visibility," said Stal. "The addition of the TRIS team complements our existing Restaurant365 partnership and expands our ability to help operators unlock the full value of the platform across both financial and operational workflows."

Nate Medoff, CEO of ContinuServe, framed the acquisition as a logical extension of nearly three decades serving restaurant and retail clients. "TRIS adds highly complementary capabilities and deep Restaurant365 expertise that further strengthen our ability to help clients operate more efficiently, make better decisions and achieve sustainable growth," he said.

Competitive Landscape

The acquisition reflects a broader consolidation trend in the restaurant back-office technology services space, where generalist finance outsourcing firms are racing to build or buy vertical depth in platforms like Restaurant365, which competes with the restaurant-specific modules of larger ERP providers. For multi-unit operators navigating labor cost pressure, food cost volatility, and tightening margins, integrated back-office expertise — spanning accounting reconciliation, inventory control, labor reporting, and operational analytics — has become a competitive differentiator at the implementation-partner level.

ContinuServe's growing restaurant and retail practice, now bolstered with TRIS's operational consulting bench, positions the combined firm to pursue larger enterprise restaurant clients looking for a single-source partner across back-office software implementation and outsourced financial operations. Gray noted that existing TRIS clients will gain access to expanded resources while retaining the personalized service model the firm has built its reputation on.
