Around-the-Clock Logistics Coordination Cartage AI has deployed WILSON, an autonomous logistics agent designed to manage food and beverage shipment operations during nights and weekends when most dispatch staff have left the office. The system sources carrier quotes, books loads, tracks shipments, and follows up on deliveries—work that traditionally requires manual coordination.
Early Deployment Results At snack producer Mid-Day Squares, WILSON coordinated hundreds of inbound shipments over two months, sourcing more than 100 carrier quotes and closing out many deliveries. The work reduced manual quoting, booking, and tracking hours each month. At Giorgio Foods, which produces fresh and processed mushroom products for retail and foodservice, WILSON has handled more than 1,600 trips and sent over 7,000 emails across its logistics operations. The system covers an estimated 8 to 10 hours of dispatch work daily, including overnight and weekend follow-ups.
Industry Context "Food and beverage logistics never stops," said Abdul Basharat, Founder and CEO of Cartage AI. "Retailers demand perfect execution, customers expect products on shelves, and every shipment directly impacts profitability. WILSON gives logistics teams the ability to operate with the speed and consistency of AI while maintaining the oversight and strategic judgment that businesses require."
Why It Matters
Foodservice operators face persistent labor constraints in logistics and dispatch roles.
An autonomous system that handles routine coordination tasks—particularly during non-business hours—addresses both staffing gaps and the business reality that perishable goods move 24/7.
