Global leader in hotel service optimization software to exhibit, present and sponsor HFTP luncheon at HITEC Minneapolis 2019
Washington D.C., USA – Knowcross®, the preferred service quality management platform of the finest hotels across the globe, today announced they will be sponsoring HITEC’s Inaugural Women in Hospitality Technology Luncheon, which takes place on June 17, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Knowcross President of the Americas, Karen O’Neill, has also been selected as a featured speaker at the event, hosting a Tech Talk at the HFTP booth on Wednesday, June 19 at 11 am, titled, The Future of Hospitality.
Co-located with HITEC Minneapolis, this HFTP Foundation luncheon will serve to celebrate trailblazing women in the industry while also supporting its future leaders, with proceeds contributing to HFTP’s General Scholarship Fund. A panel of accomplished industry professionals will share their expertise. Donna Hale, owner of FEH Consulting LLC will moderate as attendees hear from Kristin Gassick of Enchantment Group, Monika Nerger of Mandarin Oriental, and Kris Singleton of International Cruise and Excursions Inc.
“We are honored to support such an important initiative focused on highlighting the accomplishments of women in our industry,” said O’Neill. “It is so inspiring to hear real-world stories from visionaries and trailblazers who are shaping the future of travel and hospitality. At Knowcross, we’re passionate about driving positive change, and are committed to fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture where everyone can thrive in tech.”
The gender gap in the hospitality industry is wide, as top management and decision-making roles are often male-dominated. Knowcross is commitment to closing this gap. The hotel industry is very traditional and although experts are seeing some progress, it’s at a glacial pace. Despite the industry’s dependence on women for many lower-level jobs, a report found women in 2016 held just 5% of CEO positions at U.S. hotel companies, the same as in 2012. It’s an issue that most hospitality companies don’t like to talk about, but Knowcross would like to shed light on, which is why they are dedicated to diversity in the workplace.
